Myrtle Beach is one of the top golf destinations in the U.S., and lucky for you some of the best golf courses are just right down the road from Monterey Bay. Schedule a tee time for Dad or take the whole family – kids play free!
If you need to beat the heat or get the kids out of the suite try one of these Myrtle Beach Watersports! Cool down with a ride on the Banana Boat or rent a pair of jet skis. If you’re feeling really adventurous get up in the air in a parasail!
Brookgreen Gardens offers a display of color and blooms for the whole family to enjoy while visiting the property. From its Lowcountry Zoo to its sculpture gallery, there’s plenty to keep you busy here.
If you’re looking for something even more unique to do during August, check out the Bruce Munro: Southern Light exhibit held at Brookgreen Gardens. At the Southern Light exhibit, your evening will be all lit-up with lights displays and sculptures all around!
One of the best things about visiting Myrtle Beach in the summer is the amazing displays of fireworks every night. You can enjoy dinner at one of the many restaurants at Broadway at the Beach and then stick around with the kids to watch the sky light up. Or head on up to Barefoot Landing for their colorful nighttime display!
There are a few farmer’s markets in the Grand Strand that are open every weekend and filled with locally grown goodness, baked treats, and artisanal products!
The Conway Farmer’s Market is located on the Conway Riverwalk and opens every Saturday from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm through October.
The Farmer’s Market at the Market Common opens every Saturday from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm through October.
The Surfside Beach Farmer’s Market opens every Tuesday from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm through October.
The Boardwalk and promenade host Hot Summer Nights all summer long through September. Grab the family for free entertainment, music, kids’ activities, and more! Hot Summer Nights run from 4-10 PM.
Through August you can head over to Surfside Beach Pier access for an authentic hula demonstration from local hula dancers. Bring a beach chair to this free event happening Tuesday evenings from 7-8 PM.
If you love music you’ll love the free concert series Music on Main that happens every Thursday throughout the summer. In August you can enjoy bands like Tru Sol, The Holiday Band, Brick House, and Envision. All are welcome to this free event from 5-9 PM on Main Street.
