5 Places With Fantastic Playgrounds in the Myrtle Beach Area

Myrtle Beach has plenty of attractions to offer.

But it’s the simple things that make the most difference. Playgrounds, for instance. As you love taking your little ones to the neighborhood park to play, wouldn’t it be nice to have that on vacation, too?

On the Grand Strand, here are the spots where you can do that.

Savannah’s Playground

One look at the features of this inclusive park, and your children will bolt right to it!

HIGHLIGHTS: It’s a wonderful area for kids of all ages, with a lovely layout. It includes a challenge ropes course and ziplining, a Harmony music park, and a pier with paddle boats. Everything is ADA-approved.

RECOMMENDED: After you’ve worked up a hunger, head to Nacho Hippo for — you guessed it! — the area’s premier nachos.

Playground at Myrtle Beach State Park

Playing on a cool playground and visiting the beach nearby? That’s the norm at Myrtle Beach State Park. Where else can you do that?

HIGHLIGHTS: It’s part of one of the area’s two wonderful state parks. You’ll have to pay admission to the park, but kids 5 and younger are free. It’s under the shade of a grove of wax myrtles and features picnic areas.

RECOMMENDED: Take a walk on the pier nearby. There is also a gift shop and an ice cream parlor not far from the playground. This place has it all.

Barefoot Landing Playground

This entertainment and shopping center is a hit with families. The playground on site will also be a favorite!

HIGHLIGHTS: The tree-themed features are charming. The garden is well-maintained and clean, with plenty of areas for shade. Parents can have a seat with a beautiful lake view, too. Barefoot Landing also has fireworks nearby during the summer.

RECOMMENDED: On summer days, nothing refreshes like something sweet from Sweet Molly’s Creamery. It’s right there in Barefoot Landing!

North Myrtle Beach Park & Sports Complex

The landscape at this Little River location is set up for fun for kids of all ages.

HIGHLIGHTS: It’s a well-maintained area inside a sports complex. If you’re in town for a youth tournament, this is a nice respite for the little ones. There are running and walking trails here, restrooms, and a dog park.

RECOMMENDED: Bring a picnic lunch or host a birthday party on the grounds. Visit the NMB Sports Park Veterans Memorial while you’re here.

All Children’s Park in Surfside Beach

This playground is a great place to spend an afternoon.

HIGHLIGHTS: This community area has swing sets, plenty of shade, and picnic tables. There are even swings for grown-ups and an updated restroom. Besides the playground equipment, it features plenty of open play space.

RECOMMENDED: Before playtime, stop by the Conch Cafe. This beachfront eatery serves sandwiches, seafood, steak, and more.
