Get ready for a fabulous fall visit to Myrtle Beach in October. The average temperature is a beautiful 75º, the busy season is winding down, and there are so many fun events to attend! We’ve put together a list of things to do in October that are sure to keep the fun rolling during your stay at Monterey Bay Suites.

Pawleys Island Festival of Art & Music | Ongoing

This music festival runs all month long, so if you’re looking for things to do during your stay, check out the concert schedule. Located at The Reserve Golf Club, Pawleys Island Festival hosts numerous musical performances throughout October. Grab tickets to shows by Giada Valenti, Kurt Thomas, a Temptations Tribute Band featuring Nate Evans, and more. Shows start at 7:00 p.m. Make an evening of it by checking out one of the waterfront restaurants near Monterey Bay before heading to the show.

Surfside Beach Family Festival | October 1

Get out and enjoy the beautiful Myrtle Beach weather in October attending this one-day festival. Local artisans and food vendors will line Surfside Drive for the annual Surfside Beach Family Festival. Gather the family and head to “The Family Beach” for a day filled with live music and kids’ entertainment. The Surfside Beach Family Festival takes place from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and is free to attend.

Octoberfest at Barefoot Landing | October 1

Kick off October in Myrtle Beach with food, music, drinks, and fun throughout Barefoot Landing, beginning at noon. Wristbands are $10 and a portion of the proceeds benefits the Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach. Taste German food and enjoy drink specials at many participating restaurants. Pop into the Crooked Hammock Brewery for a pint, compete in the Stein Holding Contest at 5:00 p.m. and stay for live music until 9:00 p.m.

Harvest Home Festival | October 1-2

Brookgreen Gardens is hosting their annual Harvest Home Festival complete with a pumpkin patch, pumpkin decorating, and scarecrow building. There will even be a toddler-size hay maze. Food vendors will be on site and Alabama Theater’s Greg Rowles is set to perform. Bring the family from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to get in on the fun fall festivities. Entry is included with each Garden Admission. Mystery scarecrow making and pumpkin decorating are available while supplies last and for an additional fee.

Cruisin’ The Beach Car Show and Swapmeet | October 6-8

Car enthusiasts will love the Cruisin’ The Beach Car Show this October! This event runs from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Thursday and Friday and until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. You’ll enjoy classic cars, delicious food and drink, plus vendors offering parts, clothing, memorabilia, and more! If you have a car you want to enter, call 423-608-4519. This year’s event will take place at Broadway at the Beach.

Art in the Park | October 8-9

Hosted by the Waccamaw Arts & Crafts Guild, Art in the Park is a multi-weekend festival at Valor Park in The Market Common. From 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, you can view and purchase works of visual art from over 40 local artists including photographers, painters, woodworkers, sculptors, potters, and many more. If you aren’t able to attend the October dates, Art in the Park returns November 12th and 13th.

Little River ShrimpFest | October 8-9

The 17th Annual ShrimpFest takes place on the Historic Little River Waterfront. Enjoy a weekend of live music, vendors, activities for kids, and of course, the best seafood around! Admission is $5 for adults, and kids 12 and under are free! Be sure to check out this happenin’ festival from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday or Sunday.

St. John’s Greek Festival | October 14-16

Greece comes to Myrtle Beach this October at the St. John’s Greek Festival. Get your fill of classic Greek food including moussaka, gyros, and pastitsio plus all the pastries your heart desires. Bring the entire family to enjoy traditional dance performers and a kids’ entertainment area with inflatables and glitter tattoos. Festival hours are 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and Sunday noon to 7:00 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults; kids 10 and under are free. There’s a convenient, free shuttle service from Captain George’s Seafood Buffet.

Myrtle Beach Jazz Festival | October 14-16

For all the jazz lovers out there, Myrtle Beach is hosting its 6th Annual Myrtle Beach Jazz Festival on historic Carver Street. Head over for food, fun, and lots of live jazz music! Musicians include Dee Lucas, Phil Denny, Adam Hawley, Jeanette Harris, and more. Performances start at 6:00 p.m. on Friday and continue throughout the weekend. Family Fall Fest | October 15

This fall festival is a three-hour Myrtle Beach Event in The Market Common focused on family fun. Enjoy free activities including a hayride, decorating pumpkins, and making a scarecrow. There will be fall food and drink available too. The events run from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Movie Under the Stars | October 21

Experience an evening under the stars enjoying Myrtle Beach weather in October with a free movie. The Market Common’s Movie Under the Stars Series is showing Ghostbusters: Afterlife beginning at dusk. Bring a blanket or lawn chair to Valor Park, and spread out with your family to take in the PG-13 feature film—it’s sure to get you in the Halloween spirit!

Jeep Jam | October 28–30

In its 5th year, the Jeep Jam has become one of the most exciting Myrtle Beach events in October. This event features an off-road obstacle course and beach crawl by day and parties and live music by night. The Burroughs and Chapin Pavilion is just one block south of the ocean and 5 miles from your stay at Monterey Bay Suites. Admission for spectators is $10. Join in the Jeep Jam fun starting at 1:00 p.m. Friday and 11:00 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. The events continue after 5:00 p.m. at other locations around Myrtle Beach.

Hallow’s Eve Bash | October 28

Add this party to your list of things to do in Myrtle Beach Halloween weekend. Hallow’s Eve Bash is a 21+ event that takes place in Valor Memorial Garden in The Market Common from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Entertainment includes a DJ, a costume contest with prizes, plus vendors selling beer, wine, and spook-tacular treats.

BooFest! | October 29

BooFest! is an annual family and pet-friendly costume contest hosted by Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach. Kids up to age 12 and furry four-legged friends are encouraged to participate, from noon until 4:00 p.m. Check the Barefoot Landing October Events calendar for contest details. Stick around after the event and watch the movie Hocus Pocus on the Dockside Village Amphitheater lawn starting at 7:00 p.m.

Halloween Bash on the Avenue | October 29

Enjoy a night without the kids at this year’s Halloween Bash on The Avenue. This fall event begins at 7:00 p.m. with a live DJ and adult costume contest. Dress up and join goblins and ghouls for a night out! For more information call 843-444-2096.
