Autumn is in the air on the Grand Strand, and with it comes familiar and fun fall traditions like pumpkin patches, corn mazes and fall festivals. And for autumn visitors to the Myrtle Beach area, not only are these signature fall activities easy to track down on the Grand Strand, but they also coincide with an array of autumn advantages for local vacationers such as thinner crowds, cooler temperatures, and lower offseason rates.

Looking to take in a few fall traditions with your family during your coastal getaway to the Grand Strand? Consider visiting one of these five Myrtle Beach area attractions during your autumn escape to the coast:

1. Southern Palmetto Farms

With opening day set for Saturday, September 30, the Fall Fun activities at Southern Palmetto Farms in nearby Aynor, South Carolina, include the Corn Maze, the Mini Cotton Maze, the Pumpkin Patch, a play area with huge slides and an inflatable jump pad, wagon rides, and Farm Animal Alley. Plus, a number of fun fall events are scheduled, with highlights including Baby’s 1st Pumpkin Weekend at the Farm (on October 7 and 8) and the Halloween Helicopter Candy Drop (on October 28). And to add to the allure, the farm is home to as petting zoo featuring lambs, mini babydoll sheep, miniature goats and a mini cow.

3. Oktoberfest! at Barefoot Landing

North Myrtle Beach shopping/dining/entertainment hot spot Barefoot Landing holds its version of the famed German fall festival with its Oktoberfest! at Barefoot Landing celebration on October 7.
