Swashbuckling adventures sail into action at Pirates Voyage

Guests of Compass Cove Oceanfront Resort visiting this attraction will see dinner theater at its best because the live drama plays out right before their eyes with a riveting plot, dashing heroes, despicable villains, lovely maidens, dazzling special effects and a feast that will certainly fill you up.
Formerly the site of Dixie Stampede, Pirates Voyage, A Dolly Parton Company production, debuted June 3, 2011 and has been captivating audiences ever since.
The show is based upon the rivalry between the Crimson and Sapphire pirates who war against each other on deck, in water and in the air as they fight on and above two full-sized pirate ships in a 15-foot-deep, 750,000-gallon lagoon. The lagoon serves as a divide, separating the audience members supporting the Crimson pirates from those backing the Sapphire pirates.
More than 24 aerialists, divers, dancers and singers make up the cast of the show, which takes place in a 30,000 square foot arena. Animals, including trained dogs, sea lions and exotic birds, are also central to the production.
The thrilling action unfolds to the music of Dolly Parton and Mark Brymer, as audience members wait in anticipation to find out which pirate camp will acquire the treasure.
From November through December, Pirates Voyage is replaced by “Christmas at Pirates Voyage.” It is a holiday show that focuses on the travels of Captain Scrooge and the mystical Spirit of Christmas as they journey to the past, present and future of Buccaneer Bay. This dynamic production features a reproduction of The Nativity. Can the joy and real reason for the season persuade Captain Scrooge to change his ways?
While pondering the possible outcome, audience members have creamy vegetable soup, bread, a roasted half chicken, barbecue pork, corn on the cob, mashed potatoes, apple pie and a beverage.
So, matey, a feast for the eyes and a feast for the soul are both satisfied during a trip to Pirates Voyage – Blackbeard and Captain Kidd never had it so good.
