Fourth of July Events

If you’re looking for a great vacation destination for the Fourth of July, Myrtle Beach is it. With dozens of great, family-friendly events up and down the Grand Strand this Fourth of July weekend, Myrtle Beach is one of the best places in the country to be when celebrating America’s independence. Here are just a few of the free festivals and firework displays happening around the beach this Fourth of July:

Salute from Shore
Every year, those visiting Myrtle Beach on the Fourth of July get a chance to witness the spectacular ‘Salute From the Shore’ Flyover. Starting in North Carolina soaring down the coast to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, this yearly flyover parade features various vintage and modern military aircrafts piloted by highly-trained airmen. This show can be seen from any beach access point along the Grand Strand. Grab the family and some chairs and line the beaches to show your patriotic pride. Here are the projected flyby times for locations along the Grand Strand:

1:00pm – Cherry Grove Pier
1:02pm – North Myrtle Beach
1:05pm – Apache Family Campground Pier
1:07pm – Pier 14 and Springmaid piers
1:12pm – Surfside Pier and Murrells Inlet
1:19pm – Pawleys Island

Barefoot Landing
For a great night out celebrating our nation’s independence, head over to Barefoot Landing for their Fourth of July fireworks display. Starting at 10:15pm, visitors can watch the sky light up with burst of bright colors. Barefoot will also have entertainers and food vendors for families to enjoy. As with their weekly Monday night firework shows, admission is free for their Fourth of July event.

Cupcake Eating
From 3pm-5-pm this Fourth of July, Croissants Bistro & Bakery in Myrtle Beach will be hosting their second annual Fourth of July Cupcake Eating Contest. With five minuets on the clock, contestants will race to see who can eat the most cupcakes and claim this year’s title. Each individual interested in participating must be at least 18 years of age and register no later then 3:30pm the day of. Croissants Bistro will also have plenty of other entertainment and activities including: live music, face painting, balloon animals, and children’s cupcake decorating for the kids.

Cherry Grove
This Fourth of July, from 9pm-10pm, the Cherry Grove Pier in North Myrtle Beach will hold their 19th annual fireworks show. Head out to the sand and watch as the Cherry Grove Pier fires off a wide array of colorful, bright fireworks directly over the Atlantic ocean. This amazing location is the ideal spot to be for celebrating this Fourth of July. Grab some blankets and the gang and check out this beautiful, patriotic display.

Hot Summer Nights (Pyler Park)
Located directly on the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk & Promenade, Pyler Park is known for providing visitors with the best nightly, family-friendly entertainment on the Grand Strand. From musical talent to carnivals to a Boardwalk Elvis, this hot spot knows how show visitors a good time. This year, in addition to other events, Pyler Park will be putting on a fantastic display of fireworks right from their beachside location. Come out and experience the beach life with live entertainment and fireworks.
