Jet Ski Rentals
Whether you’re an experienced Jet Ski rider or not, renting Jet Skis in Myrtle Beach is one of the most fun activities you can enjoy during your vacation. As a comedian once said, I dare you to try not to smile while riding a jet ski. Most Jet Ski rental companies around Myrtle Beach offer tours of the area as well as dolphin tours. They travel up and down the Intracoastal Waterway past beautiful million dollar homes that line its shore. Tour companies provide safety and riding instruction so no experience is necessary. Most tour companies offer 30 minute and 1 hour tours.
Shark Wake Park
One of the newest additions to Myrtle Beach's watersports lineup is the Shark Wake Park. Whether you're a wakeboarding novice, or have been riding for years, The Shark Wake Park has something for all skill levels. Just a few miles North at the North Myrtle Beach Park and Sports Complex is a huge lake where Shark Wake Park staff will provide you with thorough instruction on both use and safety. This unique experience uses cables to pull riders through the water. There are plenty of ramp and rail features for those brave enough to try some tricks. If you're looking to get your adrenaline pumping during your Myrtle Beach vacation, don't miss your chance to try this incredible new attraction.
Parasailing is by far one of the most popular watersports in Myrtle Beach. Riders head out into the ocean on a speedboat. Once they are far enough out, riders are secured into their harness attached to a large parachute. When the driver takes off the riders get pulled up into the air and get a spectacular view of Myrtle Beach and the ocean. Daily during the summer you will see the giant parachutes hovering over the ocean and it’s hard not to wonder what it must be like up there. If you have the urge to find out for yourself be sure to call and schedule a flight with one of these local companies.
Banana Boats have been a Myrtle Beach staple for years. Once you see a group out there splashing around in the ocean on a banana boat it immediately invokes that urge to get out there yourself. For those who don’t know, Banana Boats are large, yellow inflatable rafts that are towed through the ocean waves behind a Jet Ski. Riders grab on and hold tight as the banana boat crashes through the waves in the Jet Ski’s wake. While you may fall off in the process, no worries, the driver simply turns around and lets you climb back on. Depending on the company rides come in various times, distances and boat capacities so be sure to call ahead if you plan on taking a group.
Surfing has always been a favorite pastime for beachgoers. If you’re an avid surfer you probably already own the necessary equipment. If not, rentals and/or lessons may be needed to fulfill your dreams of standing up and riding those waves. Lucky for you, Myrtle Beach has a few companies in the area that provide surf lessons and board rentals. Depending on how long you’re staying or how much effort you want to put into learning this ancient skill, these companies offer surf camps that last one-day or multiple days. If surfing is always something you wanted to try, make this vacation your time to try it. Call one of these great surf camps and schedule your lessons.
Paddleboarding, or Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP), is fairly new to some of our visitors but it’s a great workout and a fun way to enjoy the beauty of the Myrtle Beach area. While it may look simple, it requires some upper body strength as well as a good sense of balance. Many of the companies in the area that rent paddleboards also offer instruction and tours so you won’t be alone during your experience. Those who are totally new to balancing like this may want to try tours that favor the Intracoastal Waterway rather than the ocean. Companies offering lessons in rentals vary in terms of pricing and packages so call ahead to find what’s best for you and your group.
